That's the response of the Illinois Legislature to the unemployment rate going over 10%. Including discouraged workers and re-training, the number is over 15%.
Obviously the most logical thing to do is to raise fees to make it even harder for people to make ends meet. All to justify an expanded infrastructure that will then require even higher taxes and fees to maintain.

I just heard today they're raising business taxes in Michigan.

Not surprised but with a 3% flat income tax not completely unbearable if they don't get greedy. Blago left a lot of raided pension and other funds behind when he got tossed.
Sadly I suspect they'll get greedy after all the money Blago took from other places went to Daley and Cronies.

Lessons learned from Regean & Bush II; lower taxes, lower unemployment, raise revenue & monies received.
But NNNOOOOO, these idiots would rather have YOU be totally dependent on THEM for everything. That is, until the Big Gub'ment system goes totally bankrupt and has a totalitarian meltdown.
