Wildcat Rounds and .510 Whisper

It's good to have friends.  One of mine is one of those wonderful individuals that has all the licenses etc. to manufacture bang sticks w/ fun switches, cans, and all sorts of other goodies.  He also really likes to show off these toys to his friends and take them out to play when he can.

While I was over there working on a transfer the other night, he asked if I was in a hurry.  I replied 'Not any more' when he pulled out a custom rifle (probably costing more than I make in a year) w/ custom suppressor.  It fired what is called a 'Wildcat' round, all custom machined, in a caliber called .510 Whisper.  Basically a .50bmg bullet in a cut down .338 Lapua casing. I got the fun of firing an API round at a 150m target.  No hearing protection.  It resulted in a pop.... BOOM!!! followed by schoolgirlish giggling.

Ugly Gun: Norinco SKS

I like SKS's.  They've definitely grown on me over the years.  This one that I was shown yesterday, however, looks like it was made in a cave in Afghanistan.

Phleger the Phaker

So after hours of harassing businesses and individuals, preventing people from doing their holiday shopping, 'Father' Phleger heads out to the 'burbs to take care of his own. 

Chicago Tribune Puts a 'Magic Bullet' to Their Heads and Pulls the Trigger

During Thanksgiving, I spent the holiday w/ my mom and sister's family gorging myself on food and watching the idiots in Chicago wreck holiday decorations downtown.  I also got the pleasure of reading THE stupidest editorial in the Chicago Tribune in some time, written by an " associate professor at John Marshall Law School".  The article is behind a paywall but if you google 'Chicago tribune magic bullet' it comes right up.

Imagine if the first bullet in a cop's chamber were a blank bullet. Would this approach save lives?
What if a police department adopted this approach as standard procedure. Or, better yet, if legislation mandated this requirement for state and local police departments. Would it help save lives?
Police in Britain, Ireland, Norway, Iceland and New Zealand typically do not carry weapons at all when they are patrolling the streets. Surely, crimes in those countries are no less threatening than what we experience in the U.S.
The idea is not to ban guns from the police departments here. Rather, it is to require that the first bullet in the chamber not be a live bullet.

The rest is a near incoherent rant defeding violent criminals and attacking various police. 

What this article proves is that it doesn't take much to be an 'associate professor' at Marshall Law School. 

It also shows that Mr. Acevedo either has absolutely no idea how a gun works and/or wants more police killed in the line of duty. 

I'm sure every gunnie who read the first line immediately thought "WTF?!!, that's the stupidest thing I ever heard".  Beyond the ignorance on function, just imagine Joe Gangbanger when he figures out that he can charge any cop because the first round will just be a 'BANG'.

Bill Maher's Double Standards @billmaher

So, a few days ago Bill Maher went off on @sswipe CA Lt Governor Newsom for his anti-gun nonsense.

Maher responded, “Really? So if you were in a restaurant and a crazy gunman came in, you wouldn’t want to have a gun? You’d rather just be shot?”
Newsom responded by suggesting that citizens without proper training might just start shooting in response and make things worse. They might get nervous and “start pointing the trigger or pointing a gun and shooting.”
Again, Maher countered by trying to get Newsom to listen to himself. Maher said, “But hasn’t the worst thing already happened? A crazed madman who’s bent on killing everyone? How could it get worse?”

Now why would I have a problem w/ this when I completely agree?  because just a few months ago he went on a rant against American firearm owners calling them "a bunch of f&cking rednecks".

Guess what Billy-boy, you elitist prick, the same people that are more likely to be the ones in the restaurants legally carrying firearms are the same ones you think are too stupid to own them.  It won't be your Hollywood/television friends (although maybe their paid, armed guards).

So which is it Bill, do people carry guns or not?  Or is it that you just like to hear yourself talk?

16 Years is a Start

So POS A steals dozens of guns from a collector over the course of  years and exchanges them for drugs to POS B.  POS B then sells the guns (and more drugs) to Chicago gangbangers.  

Now I'm going to guess that the 'Avid Collector' is probably an older guy who picked up any gun he got a fancy to, maybe shot it a few times, then stuck it away in a box or safe, never to be thought of again.  Since they were able to trace the serial #'s, he obviously bought them legally going through all the hoops the People's Soviet puts in front of us.  I'm also going to guess that he had no idea what a POS he was living w/. 

Now according to 'Lost & Stolen' laws, this unnamed individual who followed all the rules should be criminalized as well because he didn't report his guns gone in a 'reasonable' time.  He'll also be the one anti-gun fanatics will blame ("If he hadn't had them, they couldn't be stolen")

A 'Universal Background Check' would have been completely useless as POS A was a prohibited person and both he and POS B were committing crimes already.  Think they would have bothered phoning in their transfers? 

So instead POS B plea bargains down to 16 yrs by admitting guilt to 2 charges instead of hitting him for the dozens he should be up for and life along w/ his buddy. 

He'll be out in 5 and back to his old tricks.
