A Profile of a Firearm Owner

You’re a scared white person, almost certainly male. You do not live in a major city, or near a university or intellectual hub of any note, nor have you ever traveled very far from your home town, much less out of state or anywhere further than, say, Mexico. Once. And that was enough.
You do not read complicated books. You do not like new or weird things. You watch lots of TV, mostly Fox News...
This is what anti-gun fanatics think of firearm owners.  Can their ever be any 'discourse' w/ someone who's this much of a bigot?

Uhm, I moved to the US from The Netherlands in '99 and I'm a gun owner & multiple CCL holder.
What now :)

Well, I'm white and I'm male.

I live in a major city (top 50 in the country) between two larger major cities.

The area I live in is known for many major universities.

I have traveled as far as Germany as an Adult and Turkey as a child. I have also traveled to Belize and Mexico on vacation.
I have visited about half the states.

I read just about anything I can get my hands on; some of the books don't even have pictures. Including my university text books - bachelor's degree here.

I do watch Fox News but I also watch MSNBC and CNN. I read a wide variety of news sources; including Huffington post.

And I'm probably one of the less technically inclined, less educated, traveled and knowledgeable blogger out of all of the gun bloggers or owners I know.

Funny how often the antis have to 'other' us gun owners -- it is almost as if they are trying to dehumanize us for some reason.

Dear Folks:

What's even funnier. More and more of those 'other' (non-'white,' non-male, non-rural, above 8th grade education, non-military) folks are buying firearms, some for the first time, because of all the stuff the anti-gunners keep talking about.

Now, that's discourse.

Sincerely, Someone You Know

Well, let them think those things, then point and laugh as they pee their pants realizing they've been mistaken.

Nah, they're probably beyond embarrassment; they'll just move on to the next set of lies.
