Chicago crime rate drops as concealed carry applications surgeCity sees fewer homicides, robberies, burglaries, car thefts as Illinois residents take armsNow I'm not one to claim causality but the coincidences on this are sure piling up. Out of the tens of thousands of CCW holders, so far they've had an issue w/ one in Chicago. One of which the much vaunted system of Sheriff approval should have caught.
On the other hand, this might not be true as the CPD have been caught fudging crime data to artificially reduce violent crime.
So which is it gun control supporters? Has CCW NOT increased the number of shootings and coincided w/ a decrease in crime or have the authorities, the ones we're told are the only ones trained and professional enough to handle firearms, lied and abused their authority?

I hear you on the faked crime statistics. Washington DC changed the rules, so a stabbing or shooting (or any other violent crime) isn't classified as a violent crime unless someone is arrested. Their justification was essentially that they don't really know what happened until they hear both sides.
My home state revises their statistics based on the plea deal (so robbing five 7-11s with a pistol becomes illegal possession of a gun by a felon), upping gun-crime statistics while lowering overall violent crime numbers.
Add New York City and Los Angeles as fudging their crime data.
Rather than honestly measuring crime, the local police are fudging the crime numbers. Then Police management looks good, the politicians look good, and a lot of people get bonuses and/or get re-elected.
And crimes go unpunished, or pled down to nothing. But the politicians look good, and that is all that really matters.
