The niece was down for the week and on the last day, the weather was finally cool enough to get some lead downrange. Her choices were the Makarov:
AK
and Dragunov
She did pretty well w/ the Mak when she kept a good grip and didn't anticipate the recoil. The AK was her best overall ("Do you want to shoot another magazine?" "YEAH!!" ) but she didn't hit squat w/ the Dragunov. No biggie. It takes a lot of practice to get used to and the recoil/weight of the rifle was a bit much for her.
This is the future of firearms right here.

Looks like the Dragunov stock is a bit long for her, that can make things tricky.
Did she try it offhand as well?
What is that rail mount bolted to the barrel of the AK forward of the front handguard?
Happy Gunstuff!!
The Dragunov isn't exactly ideal for unsupported fire, being a sniper rifle...
Anon: For a laser, looks like. The thing on it's too small for a flashlight, so it's the obvious alternative...
It's a tri-rail mount w/ a laser on it, correct.
