That mistake almost got fixed in 1938, when the Supreme Court heard United States vs. Miller - but the government's lawyer omitted some key facts, and the defendants could not be found, so they had no one arguing for the defendant.
I loved how Dennis Hennigan at his speech at the Clinton Library talked about all their past federal laws for gun control, and talked about universal background checks nationally....but HR 822 was an insult to state's rights.
Its a wonder he wasn't booed off the stage with all his lies.
