I, for one, would like to see this legislation die.

The Second Amendment is plenty - we just need the right test case(s) in the Supreme Court to get all the illegal gun control laws declared un-Constitutional and null and void.

Laws like this have way too much possibility for mischief - remember the 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act that banned new machine gun production for civilians?
