@CSGV Detached from Reality

Family gets killed in Brooklyn. Some of the strictest firearm laws in the nation. Our favorite Comm. Director squeaks:
If York had already passed microstamping, these shell casings could have been readily identified. ...
But looking at what the article actually says about the victims and why:
Timothy Walter had been arrested 24 times and was on parole. Cornelius Walter had 13 prior arrests, the sources said.
Sweet's father, Ricardo Rodriguez, said he suspects a Saturday argument between Timothy Walter and another man led to the bloody, predawn hit. "It was retaliation," he said,
I'm sure another 'microstamping' boondoggle would solve this crime. Right. Sure. Seriously, what is the sky in the world these people live in?

New York already has a ballistics database. It's not microstamping, but close, seeing as how it's equally ineffective.

maybe they should have stamped something onto the criminals. Perhaps "no parole."

Yes, the do. CoBis. A $40m waste of money w/ no crimes solve.

Not surprising. I pointed out that NY has a ballistics database on their Facebook page and they scrubbed it.

And you're now blocked from posting there.

The truth hurts their cause.

I see criminals switching to revolvers. The ANTIs are barking at the moon!

Criminals plainly couldn't spend 30 seconds with a file or sandpaper on the firing pin, I'm sure.

With their stolen guns...

Umm, you have to do more than *pass* microstamping. CA passed microstamping four years ago, but like "smart gun" technology, it doesn't exist yet.

Indeed who gives a shit what the stamp on the cases say. The gun is most likely stolen so cops run the numbers (if they can read them, even lightly used microstamp guns don't produce legible digits) and it leads right to an open police file on a home break-in and a list of stolen property including gun with Ser#xxxxxxxxxx

Which illustrates EXACTLY why every bullet, casing, shot-pellet and grain of powder must be individually serialized and sold only after the sort of "background check" now currently reserved for "class III" purchases!

Think of the CHILDREN!!
