4 legs good, 2 legs better

Rule of Duh #4:

Homo Sapiens are the most capable predators the world has ever seen.

That wasn’t always the case. Look at how vulnerable we really are from a biological standpoint. Without our tools, what are we left with?

We can produce some damn decent pressure with our jaws, but it ain’t if even close to the best and we got no fangs.

The only uses for our “claws” are slowly wearing a hole in our socks and collecting boogers.

Armor plating?…Folks, our skin can be cut be a f*cking piece of paper. That’s all I got to say about that.

I read a story that called Michael Phelps the world’s best swimmer. Uh, excuse me?
Maybe after I witness Phelps attain the velocity needed to launch himself 10 meters above the water’s surface and jump through a hula-hoop, or perhaps watch him kill a shark with his nose, will I consider being impressed.

World records in Track & Field? Well sure, as long as we exclude the “lower animals”.

Face it, we suck.

Our vision is decent but pales when compared to any bird of prey or even octopi.(They see you Breda)
Our sense of hearing? My dog can hear a rabbit hopping across my gravel driveway with the radio on.
Our sense of smell? Ya, that’s a winner. A Great White shark can detect one tablespoon of blood dispersed in a cubic mile of seawater. I can’t even smell the fact that my own nose is bleeding.

Yet, I can walk through the woods and jungle alike with the ability to repel attacks from other “top predators” in their own right, as well as slather them up with BBQ sauce and eat them all.

But our tools, our glorious tools. We traded alot for opposable thumbs and big brains and it was a good trade.

I can’t remember the name of the film, but there was a scene in which to old grizzled big-game hunters were swapping stories of the hunt. One turned to the other and asked what he thought was the most dangerous animal he had ever hunted.
The second man stared into the camp fire, and softly said, “Another man”.
