NOTICE: By mandate of the U. S. Secret Service, no firearms will be allowed in Hall A of the Kentucky Exposition Center, the location of the Celebration of American Values Leadership Forum, on Friday, May 16. Please be prepared to go through security screening to enter the venue. We look forward to seeing you at this outstanding event!
Understandable if not ideal. All we need would be an "In the Line of Fire" scenario to end the momentum that's been built up.
Of course on the other hand, the Secret Service should recognize that he would be even safer if they allowed it. Think of what a roomful of carrying NRA members would do to the person that attempted to give Obama or Billary an easy sweep into office by shooting the Senator. It would be like dropping Bin Laden into Central Park.

After the YouTube debates McCain stuck as less than pro-2A.
The Kentucky thing is not surprising. But, I think it might provide a great opportunity for pro-gun people. Just take a cue from Campus Carry, wear an empty holster in plain sight to send the message to McCain.
Just a thought.
Understandable precaution, but the dropping Bin Laden into Central Park analogy probably is not the best. Unless you mean that the NRA folks would fall down and kiss the feet of someone who shot at McCain, because there's a good chance that's what would happen to OBL in Bloomietown.
