How many calls does it take for the police to respond in Chicago?

Answer: 310

West Side Open-Air Illegal Drug Market Shut Down

"CHICAGO -- Police announced the shut down of the 27th open-air drug market of the year Friday, which resulted in 25 gang members charged in narcotics-related offenses on the West Side. Operation “Red Clover” targeted a drug market in the Austin neighborhood that was allegedly run by the Black P Stone street gang, according to a release from Chicago police.

Between April and September, police received 310 calls from area residents regarding drug dealing near Lockwood and Chicago avenues, the release said."

While I congratulate the CPD for going after these thugs, should it really take 6 months and over three hundred phone calls to do it? Now all we can hope is that the courts don't let them out with a slap on the wrist. Odds are good though that they're already back at their respective corners. Ceasefire must not be operating in those neighborhoods.

25 gang members charged in narcotics-related offenses = at least 8 FOID card offenses.

I have a FOID card.
I live in Illinois.
I obey the law.
The gang members have more
rights than we do.....I Invite Kelly~ to move to the Southeast Side.

Or the West side, North side, East side, NW side, NE side, SW side SE side, downtown, intown, uptown its all the same. The sting and arrest is but a drip, of the mass amount of drugs coming in daily. Secure the borders, enforce the laws. Untill then someone new will pick up the slack for those in the clinker for a short while. It takes six months just to witness the operation to make the sting and charges stick.

Agree, they and other law breakers now have more rights than law abiders, what you doing about it?
