Where's That 90%?

We keep hearing that number.  "90% of the public supports X gun control".  The gun control groups pay lots of Joyce/Bloomberg money to get 'likes' on FB and keep their names in the papers but when it comes to actual participation, that number, as we've seen over and over, is inverted.  The latest wave of 'townhalls' is just the latest example. 

Chicago-crats managed to get into the IL CCW bill a loophole allowing communities to pass bans on semi-auto rifles w/i ten days of the bill being passed then delayed the bill to give them more time to do so. Dozens of communities put ordinances up for votes. Only about 12 passed in some form or another and most of those are ripe for lawsuits in violation of state law by including handguns.Yet the participation at the meetings was almost universally by pro-gunners, even in the townships that ignored their voices and voted for the bans. Hundreds of people packed the halls even when they were given last minute notice as some places tried to do.

This was true even in my old hometown, little more than a blink suburb you'ld barely notice passing through.  Only one person spoke in support of the ban w/ the usual rambling idiocy while multiple were against it.

“Who’s running this country? The NRA?” she asked. “Every tiny, little thing about a gun they’re up in arms … What kind of a country is this with everyone packing a gun. Is that going to make any of you safer?” 

Even the town's lawyer seemed clueless:

Village Attorney Vincent Cainkar described Evergreen Park’s ordinance as more of a ban on gun-magazine capacity.
"Under the ordinance the weapon itself isn't banned, only when it has a magazine in automatic mode," Cainkar said.

Huh?  'Automatic mode'? The people putting these laws/bills forward have no clue what they're talking about.

They have millions of dollars. We have millions of 'real' people.  We'll see who wins.

Unfortunately I'm not kidding:

Hey, it's not much longer than the 'pistol' and is 'mostly concealed' right?  This is how stupid our elected legislature can be.

You should have seen the pics of the four or five 'carry' guns like they had conniptions about. 

IL State Sen. Dan Kotowski: Still Stupid & Lying Update.

Kotowski, the guy who threw a temper tantrum on the IL Senate floor when his magazine ban failed, has a long history of lying to legislature on .50 cal rifles, attached an anti-gun bill to a bill labeled to reduce the sexual exploitation of children, and ban rifles chambered in .17WMR as 'military style assault weapons'.

Today's tweet from him shows he either hasn't read the CCW bill he lobbyied so hard against or is a flat out liar:

Concealed firearm" means a loaded or unloaded handgun carried on or about a person completely or mostly concealed from view of the public or on or about a person within a vehicle. 

 So did Danno not even read the bill or is he deliberately lying in order to fear-monger some more?

Update:  His response was to post a link to AR-15 'pistols' on Gunbroker. Try to 'conceal' or 'mostly conceal' that.  "Is that a magazine in your pocket or are you 'REALLY' glad to see me?"



So he didn't mean 'real' AR-15's (which he also wants banned) but AR 'pistols' which could only be 'concealed' by someone about 8ft tall w/ a trenchcoat and as far as I know Richard Kiel doesn't live in Illinois.

This just gets stupider and stupider.

@TrailerDays @WalshFreedom Read law. What does "mostly concealed" mean? Ever wore a coat, jacket or sweater?

He's trying to split the same hairs about 'mostly concealed' that failed on the Senate floor making him look like the ignoramus he is.I asked him to show ANY problems w/ CCW and AR 'Pistols' anywhere. I'm sure he'll try and change the subject.

And then the classic ending for when the tough questions get asked:

 Yeah.  'Bullies' are those people who ask questions they can't answer.As Sebastian TBFKASIH stated: "To the gun control advocates, a bully is just someone with better arguments."

If you're a gun owner and/or resident of these townships, get to these meetings and protest. Show them that 'grassroots' does not mean getting money from New York. A lot of these ordinances include handguns (prevented by new CCW law) just showing that the committees really have no idea what they're passing except that it has scary sounding words like 'Assault' and 'AK-47' in it.

Happiness Is A Warm Gun

Having a good time is something anti-gun advocates can't achieve when they have their hate fests.  In contrast, listen to what happens when a friend of mine hits his target:

In the background you can hear me explaining how to use Soviet style scope reticules and how to compensate for the shorter range (25m, zeroed at 100m).  Then comes the joy.

Spent about 45 minutes ventilating a target and some cans along w/ trying to get a container of Tannerite to go boom (epic fail on that).  I have to say, the Euro style of shorts w/ high boots is really comfortable.

CSGV's Double Standards on Court Decisions

When it comes to the courts, Ladd Everitt and the CSGV believe we should support the Gov't stripping people of their rights because there's 'judicial review' of the process and to determine the constitutionality of rounding up/imprisoning people based off of Religion or Ethnicity but when it comes to a case where the courts, a jury of his peers, and due process determined that an individual was not guilty of murder/manslaughter in opposition to the CSGV's belief of his guilt, this is how they view the courts:

 Washington, D.C.—There can be no doubt after the Not Guilty verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman that murder has now been legalized in half of the 50 states.

From day one, Zimmerman has been guilty in their minds because he used a gun. As their 'official release' shows, facts don't enter into the equation at all. It was all about the gun. All the misinformation put out by the media?  Still the 'truth' to them and they will deliberately continue to promulgate it in order to inflame and mislead the public to get support for their cause.

One will also note that there was not one mention of being 'disturbed' by the acts of violence or racist/violent threats that have occurred since the verdict last night.

 Anti-gun fanatics like those at the CSGV and elsewhere show in their actions that they want the public disarmed and their hate for firearm owners comes across in every post and comment they make.
