It was not a .22, an air rifle or anything suppressed. Come on people, I live in Illinois.
Here's what it is:
Almost all the shock and sound echoed away from the gun due to the way the buildings are placed, causing a muffling effect where the camera was located. You can hear the full echo in the background.

Meh... trying to get accurate reproduction of gun sounds without professional equipment is useless...
