With the mounting opposition to SB1034, a bill creating lots of new firearm restrictions for Illinois residents using a shell bill on drug use, the ISP have doubled down so they can get that DOJ money. According to NRA lobbyist Todd Vandermyde, they've threatened to further delay FOID applications (in violation of state law) and to stop NICS background checks if this bill is not passed.
They REALLY want this money and will do anything to get it.
Here is the ISRA alert and the factsheet on the bill and the link to comment on this bill.

Instead of the fact sheet. The fact sheet was from before the bill was hijacked.
oops. wrong link. Thanks.
Refusing to process NICS requests would be a good thing. That will let the federal lawsuits under 2A commence.
Except for all the people that wouldn't be able to purchase a firearm in the interim.
