Illinois Mayors against Guns II

As an update from the original post, Palatine, IL has been removed from the MAIG website however Waukegan and Evanston are still listed but w/ the former mayors. Requests for information have not been returned.

Here is the current info for Evanston:

MAYOR Elizabeth B. Tisdahl
2100 Ridge Ave., Rm 2500
Evanston, IL 60201
etisdahl@cityofevanston.org
847.866.2979 fax: 847.866.2978

As of this writing, the official Waukegan, Il site appears to be down but there is a possible contact for the current mayor here.

As always, be polite.

Info for IN and PA mayors available.

Actually, if the current mayor hasn't signed up, I wouldn't even bother talking to them. She clearly hasn't sought Bloomberg out, so there's no need to give her ideas. But that's just my philosophy. I'd let Bloomberg keep relying on a list of mayors that is long out of date and not actually have any useful contacts. :)

True. On the other hand though, if they decide to continue support, we're at no net loss/gain. If they don't want to be associated (either as a pro-gun or neutral) we get to reduce their listed numbers like w/ Palatine which is a PR victory for us.

I differ with you on that. If they are not members, even by way of ignorance of how to sign up, then Bloomberg has no member in that town. It means he likely has no contact with the current administration and no outreach in that city. If they find out about it and want to join, now he has access to the right people.

There are arguments to go either way in this effort. I definitely disagree with some of NRA's decisions to target outspoken gun control supporters because I think it's a lost cause and waste of money. If the mayor is an outspoken true believer, they will not quit regardless of some phone calls. But for some reason, NRA saw fit to invest in those cities.
