Firearm Factoid

The standard issue firearms of the Kenya Wildlife Service Security Department are the Kalishnikov Series AK-101 and AK-102 Assault Rifles.

These replaced the AK-47 and HK G3 rifles previously used.

Is the only difference the fact that it is chambered for 5.56 instead of 7.62, and has synthetic furniture?

My dad has a wood furniture Norinco Ak chambered in 5.56. Is that technically considered an AK-101?

I'm sure thats true where the big cheeses are, but in the parks and reserves I've been to it is the british Enfield in its various forms. Mostly I'd say the MKII.
