Modern Militia: Rank Structure*

Commander - Whoever starts the unit.

Second-in-Command - His best friend.

Auxiliary Commander - His wife.

Captain - The new guy with money.

Militia Headquarters - The basement/garage of whoever has the fax machine.

Feel free to add your own.

*For the overly serious, this is known as self-deprecating humor.

Yes. Spelling counts. :)

For the overly obsessive, it is self-deprecating, not self-depreciating.

Do jokes that depreciate get less funny over time?

Commander (me)
Second in Command (my wife)
Captain (my daughter as soon as she is old enough to hold a rifle)
Lieuftenant (anyone who joins us and has a rifle or sidearm of their own)
Recruit (anyone who joins us and doesn't have any arms, and must borrow one of mine)

The Saj beat me to it. I was going to make a distinction between those bringing their own toys to the party and the mooches.

My 2 cents is for Quarter Master: The guy who religiously maintains AT LEAST 1000 rounds of each rifle caliber he owns, 500 rounds for each pistol caliber and 300 rounds for each shotgun.

Naw, the Quartermaster is the husband of the best cook in the unit. :)

Armorer: the guy with the most gun tools.
Assisstant Armorer: the guy who actually knows what all that stuff is for.
