Well folks yes the old brain is a little rusty about World War II history, but I believe is was the Russian army that liberated Auschwitz. So let's see Obama's Uncle was in the American/ Russian brigade........Check.....

When the Soviet army liberated Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, they found about 7,600 survivors abandoned there. More than 58,000 prisoners had already been evacuated by the Nazis and sent on a final death march to Germany.
Maybe the U.S.S.R was one of the 57 States back then? Did we lose some territory and noone told me?
