He's discovered the same thing as Laura Washington over in the Sun-Times. Not only are there less of them, but the majority of their arguments are based on emotion and often hypocritical. Basing your ideology on that wears thin to the public after time. You can only cry "the sky is falling" so many times before people stop listening. It also doesn't help when the majority of funding comes not from public supporters (aka grassroots) but from multi-millionaire advocacy organizations and individuals (Joyce Foundation, George Soros).
