Gun Control #Fail by @GavinNewsom

So the Lt. Gov. of CA, the guy proposing all those new anti-gun laws including confiscation of standard capacity magazines, admits that all their previous laws are a failure:

Since he knows the number, they must know who they are.  Are the CA authorities not enforcing the laws?  Are they incapable of doing so?  How would more laws then keep the 35k from keeping them? 

He refuses to respond w/ anything other than anti-gun statistics and claims he's being 'gone after'. 

Brady Campaign Head "NRA are Terrorists".

So who are the real extremists? 

Head of the foundering anti-gun group 'Brady Campaign' Dan Gross on the NRA.

"This is not a negotiation with the NRA,” Gross said. “We don’t negotiate with terrorists."

Yep, an organization w/ 5 million dues paying American members is a 'Terrorist' organization. 

These are the words of an mouth-foaming extremist watching his group and his (paid for) cause collapse. 

This is the same organization that for years has been calling for 'discourse' on firearm yet this is how they feel about firearm owners who aren't willing to kowtow to their constant calls for restrictions and bans. 

This is just one of numerous anti-gun groups who are upset that an NRA rated D- politician might have a chance at election.  They want 'F's. 

So who are the extremist gun fanatics here? 

Zeroing, Shooting, and Chicken Stew

Got some scopes mounted on the 4th power's 10/22's and finally got a chance to get them out and zero them.  After about 10 min. of trying to adjust the support stand via their instructions, I moved them and did it myself.  The difference in weight kept moving the bench.  Took about 10 rnds ea but we got them to about 1moa.  Good enough for now and w/ inexpensive scopes. 

Then some fun shooting. Hedge apples and a .22 resetting steel target.  Only got through about half a box before the 0% chance of rain started drizzling on us and we packed it in.  Also did some plinking w/ the 5th power.

Followed up by heaping bowls of homemade chicken & vegetable stew (the chicken was clucking just hours before), overall a good day.

Chicago Gun Crime in Action

So a woman is caught on video firing multiple shots on a busy urban street during an altercation (also a crime)


The police (when they showed up) received no help from people standing around.  They didn't see or hear anything. 

The police weren't there any sooner because all on-duty officers were at a mandated PR 'Outdoor Roll Call'.  Three blocks away.

When they found the woman suspected of doing the shooting, she was charged w/ misdemeanor reckless conduct and released after 8 hrs on bond.

Betting she has no FOID or CCW. 

Betting she has a record already.

Reckless discharge of a firearm is a felony in Illinois. 5 shots.  5 felonies.

But why bother charging her w/ more when they'll just plead it down anyway?

Why bother enforcing the laws on the books when we can call for more laws?

Why bother policing at all when trying to do so will result in no help from the locals and any alleged misstep will result in the officer being vilified in the media?

Historically, only about 1% of people who claim they'll 'attend' these FB events actually go so it will be really funny watching these 2 doz. or so individuals make themselves look like fools waving their rubber schlongs alone in class.

Unsurprisingly, she's completely ignorant of anything related to evidence or facts. It's all on how she's afraid of people and guns combined w/ sophomoric sensationalism.  She'll probably be offered a job w/ the Brady Campaign or Bloomberg next.

The NRA's the Problem?

These have nothing to do w/ 'easy access to guns' or anything else besides a sick culture and a lack of ethical/moral values in families.

No, I Really Don't Care... And This Is Why

So a 'journalist' writes a somewhat rambling missive bemoaning all the violent crime in Chicago, labeling it 'Domestic Terrorism', and that people don't seem to care nor does there seem to be a solution. (*which they've now put behind the paywall since people are actually reading it)

Well one reason I 'don't care' is her opening paragraph:

The words that follow are not for the white men who write to me about black-on-black crime, pointing out weekend death tolls. I have nothing to say to you because you don't care about these communities. You write merely to highlight the viciousness, and then extrapolate in nutty ways about "black people" as a whole.

So bemoan broad brush racism by making a broad brush comment about 'white males' (which I happen to be).

With that attitude, why should I give crap about those Chicago neighborhoods turning into warzones?  Why should I support any measure that is proposed to get anything done especially since many of the measures seem aimed at restricting MY freedoms and rights even though I've done absolutely nothing wrong.

Why should I care when the closest thing to a 'reason' given (and I use this term very loosely, even more so than 'journalist') is the ever present Race Card, the police aren't doing enough because it's black on black.

Yep, that Race Card again (as seen in the opening paragraph).  Calling the SC church shooting "one of the worst acts of terrorism committed not just in a church, but in this country" is one of the most ignorant and baiting statements one could make while (as horrible as it was) ignoring the dozens of other incidents across that nation that WEREN'T committed by a racist white guy (like the church shooting, Sandy Hook, Oklahoma City, etc)

If you want more of the 'complete picture', perhaps she should watch videos of police crime scenes in Chicago as they fight back onlookers who are trying to trash evidence or the countless family members of ventilated thugs justifying their criminal actions and blaming those who defended themselves. maybe the single digit percent of violent crime that's actually prosecuted and not pled down to minor charges and the offenders let back loose on the streets. That would be more of a start than traveling to SC.

And the whole 'Domestic Terrorism' meme.  While it's a nice buzz phrase popular in media circles, think very carefully about the consequences of declaring it such.  Are you really prepared to accept the measures necessary to end the violence under that handle?  Watch the move 'The Siege' before you answer.


Yet somehow, I keep being blamed for Chicago crime because I'm a white, male, (iow inherently racist) gun owner who apparently enables 50k violent, criminal, gang bangers.

So no, I don't 'care' yet I'll still be blamed anyway. 

Talk About A 'Backfire'

So overtly hostile and aggressive anti-gun fanatic w/ misogynistic tendencies edits a video of pro-rights advocate Dana Loesch, making it end w/ her shooting herself.  Apparently the height of humor in gun control circles:

So the 'Pin Head' not only ended up giving pro-gunners another example of why one should carry but got the NRA hundreds in donations and a whole bunch of new members.
