IOW, they are asking FFL dealers to NOT use their software.
Fine w/ me. I think I'm going to check w/ all the local FFL's and make sure they're NOT using it.

Apparently some sort of electronic 4473 filing system.
Too bad there's no Open Source substitute.
But then things like this, that interface to Important Government Systems has to be written by Professional Programmers!

I've never heard of them, have never done business with them, and have never had any correspondence of any kind with them.
Why, then, did I get an e-mail from them yesterday requesting that I refrain from selling firearms for a day?
The only thing I can think of is that they have somehow been made privy to the e-mail addresses of all FFL holders (I have a C&R FFL).
If that's true, why have they been provided access to this information? Is there some legislation or regulation that provides for them to be given access to it?
I don't want to go off half-cocked if there's another possible explanation, but I for one would like to know what's going on here.
Has anyone considered the possiblity that this is a hoax? There's nothing on their website and they don't appear to have any sort of Facebook page. The link you posted is dead. Getting a list of FFLs is easy,

Send them email. They emailed me a press release "recanting" their pledge. I'm going to post it.
I sent them an e-mail asking how they got my e-mail address and got the same "we recant our proposal" that you did.
Supposedly, the idea was a poorly worded call for FFL's to "go on strike" by refusing to sell guns for one day to demonstrate the economic activity that would be lost in the event of a total gun ban...or something.
That's not how I read the initial e-mail. Sounded to me like they were saying that we should refrain for selling for one day to show how sensitive we are to the fact that we deal in baby killing death machines...but I can't verify that because the initial e-mail was done through "remote content" which is conveniently no longer available and I didn't think to take a screencap of it. Anyone get a shot of the original e-mail?
On second thought, maybe it's a good thing the original seems to be gone. Don't want to provide the other side ammunition.
They apologized and recanted the idea. Done and over with.
