Gun Show AAR

Sales were brisk to say the least. Common statements by vendors were 'Best weekend ever' and "I broke my record".  This wasn't all do to hard core 'gun nuts' either. Quite a few new gun owners and 'moderates' made up the queue.  Handguns, EBR's, magazines and accessories were the big sellers across the show and I know that the various pro-rights groups signed up dozens of new/renewing members.

While some of it was due to the holiday season, much of it was due to the expectation of more restrictions coming down the pipeline. So far the response by the anti's has mostly been severe hostility online w/ only little physical action while the politicians are dusting off every and any anti-gun bill they can dream of.

This can go either way. The public's attention span is small and there are still a lot more gunnies than there are anti's no matter how loud they get and their clearly shown insanity can work against them.

It's going to be a long season.

At least we don't have a backstabbing RINO like Romney to deal with. He would be leading Republicans and Democrats against us right now, and we would have no party to turn to - that is a painfully lonely position to be in. As is, we can have a nice, ugly fight along clean cut partisan lines. Boehner's already gotten squishy on taxes, if he caves on guns he's going in the toaster. We need to keep his feet to the toaster.
We may lose on Supreme Court nominations as a result of losing the presidential election to Obama, but it's good to have a certified Marxist douchebag in the White House to fight at a time like this. It's a good thing to have shitty enemies, and the communisty organizer from Chicago is a pretty shitty character.
It's times like this, as the holidays approach, that I wish I was a kid again, so that I could enjoy the holidays amidst the naive wonder of youth, but that's for the youth of today. We grown-ups have to deal with the people who are trying to destroy the freedom that America stands for. I guess it was like that during WWII too. Seems there’s never a shortage of evil in the world.
