Damned if you do, Damned if you don't..

The Trib, the same paper that supported the Chicago Handgun Ban from its inception and called for the repealing of the 2A has published a truly balanced poll on future firearm legislation:

Go read the comments at the paper. They're truly telling of the mindset at this future bailout prospect.

Sad thing is, other than the re-registration bit, everyone of those suggestions is on the books here in NJ.

What's even sadder is several of those are ALREADY law in Cook County (in which Chicago resides) and the paper doesn't seem to even know it.

Where's the "I'm afraid of my own shadow" option?

The "No Assault Weapons or Heavy Caliber Weapons" choice is moot in CA. We have ways of getting around the whole AW ban while remaining legal. Only .50BMG is "banned", but any of the other heavy weapons is still legal. From the .416 Barrett to the .510 DTC, there are still plenty of guns manufactured or rebarrelled and used in the state.

Normal capacity magazines are only illegal to buy, offer for sale, give, lend, import or cause to be imported, manufacture, or otherwise transfer. Possession is 100% legal. As long as you have it, they have to prove that you acquired it after 1/1/2000.

Bit by bit, we're chipping away at the hideous gun laws in this state.
