Facts? Not So Much

Reading this headline:

New website arms the world with true facts on guns

One would think that the information would be up to date and correct. Yet w/i minutes I found glaring errors.

Regulation of Automatic Assault Weapons
In the United States, private possession of fully automatic assault weapons is prohibited (except those legally owned before 1968)25

Regulation of Semiautomatic Assault Weapons
In the United States, private possession of semi-automatic assault weapons is prohibited (except those legally owned before 1968)25

the '25' is a cite to the 1968 GCA. Not sure which bill they read.

And some good old fashioned VPC style sleight of hand:

Market Cost of an AK-47 Assault Rifle
The asking price for an AK-47 pattern assault weapon in the United States is reported to be US$50018

Of course this whole thing is in support of the UN gun banners. I've e-mailed them. Let's see what the response is.

Update:

Thank you for this. We're only launching this site today at the UN in New York, and it's still a work in progress.

We'll check this out soon, and amend as needed.

I won't be holding my breath on their corrections. Looks like accuracy is the least of their goals if it is even on their list. :)

It's about 50% crap, with that 50% being heavily biased by anti-gun views, or by just plain ignorance. None of the information outside of the actual reading of GCA68 comes from unbiased sources.

Even the stuff on the 68GCA is heavily incorrect. It's like they just made up some facts and used that as their default legislation.
