“Existing laws are so weak that even one of the most notorious dealer supplying the cartels, the owner of X-Caliber gun shop in Phoenix that allegedly supplied 700 guns to Mexican drug gangs, had all criminal charges brought against him dismissed recently. As the X-Caliber case shows, ‘enforcing the laws on the books’ will never be enough: we need stronger laws, and strong enforcement of those laws.”
Get that? He's 'notorious' because of those 'over 700 guns' he 'allegedly' sold, the prosecutors could not find a single one that was sold illegally in any way.
Since the shop retains all those records, one would think that the BATFE would be able to find some sort of pattern in the people he sold them to and would bring them to trial and in some instances they have. But pursuing that line of thinking wouldn't promote more restrictions on firearm owners so the Brady's want nothing to do w/ it. Much better to enact more laws that have been proven to have no effect on actual criminals.

Details, details.
Cut them some slack. Do you know how hard it is to push a liberal agenda AND be honest?
Well, at least they are being truthful: "What you are doing now is not illegal, but by God, we are going to make it illegal!"
That was always the Brady's goal, and at least they are owning up to it now. If they cannot find a crime that gun owners or dealers have committed, they will make one... to the point where owning or selling a gun is illegal.
Now we know what we are up against, for those who were already unaware.
If you read the comments to that post, you'll see mikeb was trying to have it both ways — implying the border FFLs were responsible for arming the cartels but saying that no one knew what percentage of the cartels' weaponry was fully automatic. If there was evidence to support the contention that the border FFLs were supplying weaponry to the cartels, there would also be evidence to indicate what percentage of their weaponry was full-auto.
MikeB asked "What does the anti-gun movement have to gain besides lower gun violence?"
I responded, he'll likely delete it (tho I didn't call him a liar, or point out his secriet identity) that they have MONEY to gain.
Haven't been many Million Mom Marches since '04, certainly fund raising has been difficult after Heller, and I'm curious of their blood-dancing from events like the VT shooting, given that it appered to mostly aquire a pro-gun spin rather the boon of Columbine.
They're hurting right now, if they can get the public to belive this latest crop of lies maybe they can losten some purse strings....

That looks like libel, which is legally actionable.
He is not supplying the cartels, proven in a court of law.
Lawsuit time. IANAL, etc.
