"We're obviously not going to turn away help on a front as important as this," (Spokesperson) Heard said. "At the same time, we're a little puzzled about how it would work. It's unprecedented. Obviously, help in the form of reducing the number of guns on the street go a long way to addressing the problem."
This is in response to the Blago's suggestion of moving State Police and possibly Nat'l Guard Units into the city to help combat the recent rise in crime.
Maybe they should focus on reducing the number of criminals on the streets since 90% of murders are committed by prior criminals. But that wouldn't mesh w/ Daley and Blago's citizen disarmament plans.
Where have we seen that before?
As an aside, has anyone else noticed that the phrase "epidemic proportions" has become the PuSH'ers buzz phrase de jour?

The governor's offer could be more politically embarrassing than helpful for Daley, who has been conscious of the city's image as he tries to win the 2016 Olympic Games.
He he. I was thinking the same thing.
I would guess that the Guard on the streets of Chicago would go over about as well as it did in New Orleans...
The Guard was sent to do great things, then the dumbass Dems realized that the Guard was killing tourism..
Oh my!! What do we do now??
Why, it was simple, send the Guard to the boonies, the Lower 9th, all the nasty places that needed to be under martial law and let NOPD take the French Quarter...
Chicago needs to police their city, they don't need the Guard, they're NOT experiencing a *civil insurrection, they have thugs, and Chicago has always had thugs, in one for or another, and at times the Mayor was their biggest supporter...
Just sayin'...
Maybe Batman will help
"Despite Blagojevich’s repeated vows to help Daley’s efforts on major gun-control legislation..."
*sigh*
I can hear it now. Guns in Chicago are now more illegal.

Hey, if guns and knives can be made "more illegal" in Japan, why not Chicago ;-)?
