And so it begins..

SCOTUS takes the case

And now we get to hear months of teeth gnashing by the VPC and BC about how the 2A doesn't mean what it says and "activist judges".

Update: And money. Can't forget about the calls for more money.

This fight is so critical that we need to raise $50,000 by November 30. And since your gift will be going to our Brady Gun Law Defense Fund, it will be fully tax deductible!

We need your help today to build a strong Brady Gun Law Defense Fund to protect America’s gun laws. Please give today.

Earlier this year, a U.S. Court of Appeals struck down a gun law as violating the Second Amendment for the first time in American history. We believe this decision was judicial activism at its worst and was clearly wrong.

This legal case at its very core is the most important battle we have ever waged. The U.S. Supreme Court has the chance to reverse a terribly erroneous decision and make it clear that the American people can adopt restrictions on firearms in their communities.

and from CNN , pretty much the same thing.

Dave Hardy's take.

Just a thought but I wonder how much it costs to process an online donation?

If someone could determine if the costs were greater then a penny perhaps, it might be interesting to see what would it take to get hundreds of "supporters" to donate a penny to the brady campaign :)

I like the way you think. I was just wondering how we could (legally) cost the BC money.

Many Frivolous Lawsuits, Lots and Lots. Anyone who is robbed, sue the Brady’s for denying there right to self protection.

Just a thought

Melody,

What do you think of plural marriage? :)

Checked they have to get at least 5 bucks to process

Damn, which means it probably costs about half that.

It’s important to note that this is the week of Thanksgiving. Nearly half of all charitable giving happens between Thanksgiving and the end of the year.

They are raising money for their (c)(3), which is the division that stands to benefit the most from time end of the year begging. My guess is that while it may not have been as ambitious a goal, they would have been soliciting soon anyway. It’s just the nature of non-profits.

That said, look for far more ambitious campaigns from all the pro-gun groups and their (c)(3)s. In that regard, the Supreme Court fall schedule can be the best thing that happens to non-profits on various issues going before the Court.

Let's not give up hope yet. I'm thinking of mailing in a penny.

Let's see, perhaps $2.50 to process a $0.42 donation

If nothing else it slows down their mail center activities. Wonder if they have to account for all donations? More book keeping busy work, eh?
