And Remember...Gun Ownership is Declining

Which explains this in IL:
The agency received more than 28,000 applications for cards during April alone...Officials say 31,249 applications were received in December. In January, 61,172 people applied for a card, and there were 56,078 applications in February. About 70,000 applications were filed in March.
 And this:
The April 2013 NSSF-adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) figure of 1,185,231 is an increase of 27.2 percent over the NSSF-adjusted NICS figure of 931,660 in April 2012. For comparison, the unadjusted April 2013 NICS figure of 1,702,455 reflects a 20.2 percent increase from the unadjusted NICS figure of 1,416,074 in April 2012.
Nearly 250,000 FOID applications and 1.2 million firearms nationwide. People in Illinois must be getting multiple FOID cards as well as guns according to anti-gun logic.

This belief is the continuation of what small children do when they hear something they don't like,  They cover their ears, stomp their feet and yell so they don't have to hear the grownups telling them to eat their vegetables.

Crunching the numbers, the FOID figures for Illinois imply that the country as a whole is adding 1,325,153 new gun owners every month.

Couple this with 2.181M NICS checks, and existing gun owners are buying some 856,000 additional guns per month. Probably a bit less as not all NICS checks are for gun purchases.

The dogma of anti-gunowner advocates (more accurate than "gun control" advocates and MUCH more accurate than "gun safety" advocates) says that all those guns are being bought by the same small group of gunowners. When they try that line on me, I point out that most anti-gunowner advocates usually call for a limit on how many guns someone may own -- yet the (supposed) massive increase in guns owned by the same small group of gunowners has been accompanied by the 39% decline in homicides with guns. When I ask them to renounce a limit on how many guns someone may own in view of such overwhelming evidence against such an action...crickets.
