The Journal News of West Nyack, N.Y., has hired armed security guards to defend its offices after receiving a torrent of phone calls and emails responding to the paper's publication of the names and addresses of area residents with pistol permits. So a couple of questions:
Will they publish the names/addresses of their armed guards? By their argument, people have a right to know.
Why do they consider themselves to be more important than schoolchildren since nearly every op-ed they've published has been in opposition to the NRA school security plan? They've said over and over that more guns isn't the answer. Why is it the answer for them?
I certainly hope that any additional revenue they may have generated is lost from the hiring of these security guards.

Their guards are only available through the 2nd of January, I notice. Wonder if Gannett isn't prepared to pay for guards for the long haul?
The armed guards *must* have pistol licenses so they already did publish their names and addresses along with everyone else.
Concur with Jacob... That whole goose/gander thing...
Are these guards frisking every person entering the building?
If not they aren't doing JACK for security in the face of a 'real' threat.
Did you see the Rockland County Times headline?
"The Journal News is Armed and Dangerous"
HAHAHA
Karma. The guards will either bully and harass paper employees, or not. unemployed people who like guns will get a few days of pay. Works for me.
