(Anti) Freedom Riders

Well we all saw this coming:
A new program in Houston will place undercover TSA agents and police officers on buses whose job it will be to perform bag searches, watch for “suspicious activity” and interrogate passengers in order to ‘curb crime and terrorism’.
This is the idea of one of the biggest DC race-baiters, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee who apparently has no problems expanding the powers of an agency primarily known for molesting children and abusing the mentally handicapped and the elderly. Of course this is the same person who thinks China and Venezuela are countries we should emulate.

But I'm sure this program will be fully implemented w/ no questions asked. No terrorists will be discovered and millions more dollars will be thrown down the hole for 'security'.

Bread and Circuses.

First words out of your mouth should be "Sure, AFTER I see your warrant first!"

These warrantless searches will continue to expand. We are now in a police state in practice, now it is just a matter of degree.

I used to wonder how people could sit there and allow their country to become a police state, and now I know. The purges are coming, it is only a matter of time. One major incident from now, people will begin to disappear.

You've heard of Air Marshals. Now its the feared and dreaded Bus Marshals! Wonder if this will be punishment for Horny Secret Service agents? Cant wait for the Sandra Bullick movie on that branch of government.

An interesting thing is in the early days of TX the courts upheld that public transportation cannot prohibit chl holders from carrying on public transportation.

I wonder how the JBT's will take to my exercising my rights.

"Undercover"?

Like as in plain-clothes with no visible credentials, or visible oversight?

If I'm at an airport and see somebody fucking with my bag, they get their ass beat, then the police called.

There's a reason why the Airlines ask if your bags were adulterated by a stranger. Its a super-easy way to attempt to smuggle contraband without risking getting caught if it gets discovered.

Yep, coming to a city near you... sigh... And I can see a confrontation coming with a CHL holder...

Two things that I understand:
1) The TSA lacks police arrest powers. So how do they really threaten you to show you the contents of your bag, briefcase or backpack?
2) Notice that one reason cited is to deter crime. Crime control is not their reason for existence! Notice the mission creep? This is just to make it more palatable to allow a general police state approach. At a minimum this is a state concern, not a federal one.

"I do not consent to searches."

"Am I being detained? If so, let me know when I am free to leave."

"On advice of council, I have nothing further to discuss with you."
