I'd wager that young Chadwick had not expected anything like the reaction he has gotten. Nothing on the level of Jim Zumbo, of course, but perhaps enough for him to at least make the effort of not being 40 years off in dating the ratification of the Bill of Rights, within a few paragraphs of counting himself among "the smartest, most intuitive citizens."

"The Democrats need to do what is right in this situation. This is one of those scenarios in American politics where the smartest, most intuitive citizens need to force legislation upon the people, even when it is not the popular choice."

WTF? Why doesn't he just go live in some third-world hell hole if he hates rights so much? What an elitist prick. I almost can't believe he actually printed that.

You mean "That Thing That Goes Up"?

"Editorial Editor Chadwick Bowman is a senior Sociology and Journalism major."

Pretty much explains the ignorance, doesn't it?

With a name like Chadwick, it's a wonder he isn't more amenable to the concept of self defense. He probably spent a lot of his youth inside gym lockers.

I think the proper phrasing is "dirty hippy"

I'm with Kurt, I highly doubt Mr. Bowman expected to get the kind of reaction he did. Inside of academia he's insulated and surrounded by many who share his contempt for the 2nd Amendment. On the internet and out in the real world, not so much.

Thanks for the link Roy.
