And so it begins....

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Michigan's movie bonanza continues. The remake of "Red Dawn" began shooting Friday night in one area neighborhood, creating lots of buzz and excitement.

Welcome to Spokane, Washington, where enemy soldiers have taken over. At least that's what will happen in the remake of "Red Dawn," the movie being shot in metro Detroit. Actually, the Spokane neighborhood is really Kendrick Street in Mount Clemens, which is now a huge movie set.

I'm not 100% sure what to think but I'm leaning towards expecting it to suck.

On the other hand ... Spokane ... Shouldn't we let them have it?

Don't worry the Irish Lawyer Mafia will protect Spokane.

I guess if Spokane is too expensive to film in Detroit is a good fill in.

It is really a $2.00 vs $1.50 kinda decision.

I just wonder how PC they'll try to make it.

I am thinking somewhere in the "jump-start a Dyson" level of suckitude. We shall see, though.

They have already apparently changed the lead role from civilian to off-duty soldier. That change alone defeats the entire point of the movie.
