"There is still time for Congress and the president to take steps to keep loaded firearms away from the valleys of Yellowstone, the cliffs of Yosemite, and the Statue of Liberty -- but they need to act quickly," said Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. So who wants to point out the blatant inaccuracies in this statement?

Too many observations, too little time and space. . .
Can anyone slip "Mr" Helmke some powdered alum in his drinking water?
(cartoon character with shrinking face and mouth).

You mean besides the fact that there are plenty of LE Rangers carrying loaded sidearms, shotguns and rifles in the parks; and that there are plenty of people bringing guns into the parks in their cars and trucks; and that California and New Jersey have some of the most restrictive gun laws, including no concealed weapons permits in New Jersey, and a "May Issue" scheme in California; AND the Sheriffs of Mariposa and Madera Counties (where Yosemite lies) are both extremely gun friendly? I can't think of anything.
Is there actually still time for congress and the President? I thought it was now up to the individual states.
The new regulations defer to State Law and these areas will still not allow firearms in these parks.
Helmke is telling a lie. We must always remember these so called (liberals) first reflexive action when they don't get what they want is to lie in order to get their way. My God the Statue of Liberty is in New Jersey! Even California has less draconian gun laws! Someday, maybe our government will go after the criminals and not their tools.
