Quote(s) of the day

Kaveman on Huffpo:

Go out into the street and ask 100 people if they know what the NRA is.

Now ask those same 100 people if they know what the Brady Campaign is.
Reply by MolonLabe:
Of COURSE they know what the Brady Campaign is......

It was the movement in the 70's to revive Florence Henderson's career.

It's worse than that.

Many people at the gun range don't get my "Every time you hit a bullseye, Sarah Brady cries" targets.

Isn't that a wonderful feeling though? They're so inconsequential, only those 'in the know' can even recall their name.

At the convention, Dick Heller mentioned Communists and Sandcastle Son looked up at his dad and asked what a Communist was.

Our military did its job.

I think Robb makes a good point. Even though the pro-gun movement has been making major gains over the past few years, we're severely under-achieving. I mean, think about it; 80 MILLION gun owners and only 4 million NRA members. I'm not saying that anyone who owns a gun and is not pro-NRA is a douche-bag, but I think it's reflective of the real situation which is many gun owners who are "sunday shooters" and not really cognizant of the broader issue of the RKBA and the almost daily attacks against it by the anti-gunners. I know some gun owners who couldn't tell you Dick Heller from Helen Keller and think that Castle Doctrine is the unspoken rule 6 year-olds abide by in the sandbox.

If more pro-gun people became sheepdogs in the sense of educating themselves instead of relying on someone else to do it, we could have "10-run ruled" the opposition years ago.

So is it worse to be someone like Paul Helmke or Josh "sad clown" Sugarmann with zero support and credibility, or knowing you have the potential resources to trounce the opposition and are hindered by complacency?

Can't argue much with that except to say this...

Let's say there's 200 million adults in America out of the 300 million total population.

The NRA has 4 million members out of 80 million gun owners/200 million adults.

The VPC has ZERO members out 120 million non-gun owners/200 million adults and the Braby Bunch has an estimate of 50,000.

The complacency issue rubs my nuts the wrong way too, but in comparison, we kick some serious ass.

The only problem is that, thanks to the lies and fear-mongering of the MSM, what most people "know" about the NRA is incorrect.

The Brady Campaign really hasn't caught on in American culture.
