So IL Rep Robin Kelly spoke to the 'Illinois Campaign for Political Reform' the other day about gun control and broke down in tears.

This is the same Rep. who had her seat bought for her for $2m by (out of state) billionaire Bloomberg. 

That irony alone should bring tears to her eyes. 

But apparently her speech was a comedy routine:

“I’m not anti-gun,” Kelly protests. “I come from a family of cops and hunters. I respect the Second Amendment. I just happen to believe we can balance our Second Amendment rights with the rights of all Americans to live free of the threat of gun violence.”

Yeah, OK. Just like every other anti-rights politico, she 'respects the 2A' so much she wants to ban the majority of firearms, shut down 90% of (federally licensed) firearm dealers, and punish legal firearm owners through taxes, laws, and bureaucracy.

I'll give her credit though,  when she's bought she stays bought.

Unsurprisingly the opinion piece at the Sun Times doesn't allow for comments.  And the writer didn't tweet it to his feed.

If Their Case Is So Strong.... Why Lie?

This was from a PBS townhall on 6/2.  Let's go through a few of the statements. 

"At no point have I ever proposed confiscating guns..."

Technically no but he has several times endorsed gun confiscations that occurred in other countries. His administration has supported defacto gun bans at the Supreme Court.  He has also supported bans on arbitrarily defined firearms under the guise of 'Assault weapons', magazines of arbitrary size for all firearms, and prohibiting all private sales.  Hillary has openly stated she's going to do everything in her power to restrict the rights of firearm owners if she is elected. 

"Congress will not allow the CDC to study gun violence...."

 They can study 'gun violence' and always have been able to. As a matter of fact they did as the so called 'ban' was lifted several years ago.  What happened was the CDC, under the Clinton administration, was paying gun control advocates to create 'studies' to push political agendas so Congress restricted money that was used “to advocate or promote gun control”.

 "People who we know who have been on ISIL websites... US Citizens.. We're allowed to put them on the No Fly List but because of the NRA I cannot prohibit those people from buying a gun"

No mention the ACLU also opposes these arbitrary lists that have no oversight nor the fact that the No Fly List and the 'Terrorist Watch List' are two different things.  No Due Process for you.

"The only way we're going to do this is if anything that is proposed isn't looked at as some tyrannical destruction of the 2A."

Except that EVERY proposal has been abused and expanded to do just that.  Just like the 'Common-sense' licensing in Chicago and DC that turned into gun bans, the 'Common-sense' registrations in CA, NJ, and NYC that turned into confiscations, or the NJ and CA 'smart gun' mandates that only allowed people to own one very expensive and completely unreliable handgun. 

These are facts.  They happened. They're not 'NRA Fear-Mongering' or paranoia.  These are the REAL, DOCUMENTED effects of 'gun control' laws.  And THAT is why firearm owners react to nearly every proposal the way we do, because they've shown their cards over and over again. 

Colleen Daley - Voting a 'dirty procedural maneuver'

So anti-American insurrectionist Colleen Daley, head of the Joyce Foundation funded "Illinois Council against Handgun Ownership" hates the idea that  politicians have the ability to vote against her pet cause.  She really thought that the bill to shut down 90%+ of gun shops, attached to a 'shell' bill titled against illegal waste dumping and with poorly written amendment after amendment shoved through committee's was the 'will of the people'. All the while telling politicians who where likely to vote for gun control different things than that were actually in the bill to the point more than a few of them left the floor. 

She would much prefer rules by dictatorial fiat.. as long as it was her dictator of course.

#Enough w/ the Faux Outrage

The Brady Campaign to Keep on the Lights posted this:

 and all the outrage follows on how horrible it is and how the NRA are terrorists blah blah blah. 

So where's the Brady Campaign marching down the street w/ their hundreds of thousands of followers?

Where's Shannon Watts and her million$ of marchers? 

Where are the Giffords?

Where is Ladd Everitt or Josh Sugarmann? 

Where is BLM?

Where is Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson?

Where is Obama to proclaim all his 'sons'?

Where are ANY of the so-called 'leaders' of the anti-gun movement?

They're playing golf or sticking dildos on posters or screen printing prisoner orange shirts to help pay the bills.  IOW they're nowhere near the violence nor will they ever be.

Range Therapy

Talked to my mom today. She told me a story I had not heard before. 

Shortly after we lost my dad to a work accident, I bought my mom a gun to keep in the home since she was now alone and the neighborhood had been going downhill.  Since she was inexperienced w/ them, I took her to the range to get her familiarized enough w/ it so she could use it in an emergency.  She didn't do bad.  Not great but well enough that she could use it.  

She told me today that what was going on in her head that day was all the usual things that one experiences after a loved one's death.  Anger, sadness, fear.  All those wonderful emotions that sap the will from a person's life.  

What mom did is what many of us enthusiasts know about.  She took out all those negative emotions on those pieces of paper at the far end of the range.  The concentration of lining up the sites.  Feeling the recoil of the firearm in her hands.  The flash from the barrel.  The perforated targets we pulled back to the line.  

She told me it took all the anger and sadness out of her and she felt good again. 

That's something the other side will never understand. 

Grassroots vs Astroturf Cash

So the Giffords’ Bloomberg funded anti-gun group ARS merged with the Joyce funded Law Center to Prevent Gun Ownership. They then made a big push in Illinois to legislate gun shops out of business through taxes, fees, bureaucracy , and mandates. They were joined by several other ‘grassroots’ anti-gun organizations located in Illinois that basically consist of a PO Box and some more Joyce Foundation money (ICHV and “People for a Safer Criminal” specifically).

The sponsor of the bill attached it as an amendment to a ‘shell bill’ that was titled about illegal waste dumping. I’m sure you can all see how clearly that relates to firearms. The anti-gun groups tried to take a page from the ISRA and Illinois Carry playbook and file ‘witness slips’, an online form that one can state support or opposition to a measure. Even after all their push, they were outnumbered in ‘witness slips’ 5:1 + (amend. 1- 5017:985).

As the amendment was questioned and criticized, new amendment after new amendment followed, rushed through rigged ‘committees’ as assigned by anti-gun Rep. Mike Madigan, six in total so far. In each and every case, the witness slips showed massive opposition against the bill, the 4th 1433:93, the latest amendment at 393:16. This, during the height of the workdays and all the nonsense being rushed through the legislature. Firearm rights advocates continued to rally in opposition while the anti’s diminished to mostly paid professionals like Colleen Daley, Mark Walsh of the ICHV and Ron Holmes of ARS.

‘Polls’, as shown again in the crapumentary “Under the Gun” keep touting that ‘gun owners want more gun control’ but when it comes down to actual voting or shows of support, it’s the complete opposite. It must be that ‘silent majority’ again as they try to prove their negative.

The only times ‘gun control’ can win is when they dump millions of dollars into it and lie to the public.

Update:  A 'protest' against the favorite bugaboo of Chuck's gunshop turned up about 6 anti-gun protesters to over 30 pro-rights folks (alerted to such by a night before email from the ISRA/IllinoisCarry)

@CSGV's Ladd Everitt Takes Selfie at the #NRAAM

So apparently Ladd Everitt of the CSGV snuck into the NRA annual meeting and took a selfie (NSFW).  One of the commenters took offense:

Truly a beautiful statement as they then proceed on deleting dozens of comments that don't toe the party line to go along w/ the countless people they've blocked/banned from their FB page.  That's 'all voices' in their world.  

I truly hope that their partner organization continues their efforts.  It truly shows the mindset of the PuSH'ers.  We have facts, evidence, and millions of actual members.  They have d!ck jokes.
