'Super' Tuesday

Like there was ever any doubt it Mitt-ens was going to win. He was the GOP’s choice from day one. That’s why they kept him ‘#2′ all last year while the press destroyed ‘frontrunner’ after ‘frontrunner’.

Now they’re running the primaries like we actually have a choice and there might be some competition but in reality the decision's already . Just like when Durbin decided who was going to be the Lt. Gov. candidate for the DNC in opposition to the voters decision.

Is that cynical? Yep. I have lost almost all faith in the political system in the country and I have my doubts it can be fixed.

Quality Parenting

There's always calls to license gun owners and require training because some people act unsafely/stupidly/criminally. Why aren't there similar calls for parents? Just a smattering of headlines from the last few days:

Arizona mom accused of burning teen's face for refusing arranged marriage to older man

Ohio adoptive father accused of raping 3 children

Ohio mother accused of injecting children with heroin before school

PuSH'ers won't say a thing about events like these because they really don't care about children or violence. They care about getting rid of guns and that's it. They won't light any candles for these victims of violence or boycott ToysR'Us because none of that is part of their agenda.

Beef and Vegetable Stew

Beef/Vegetable stew is one of the most popular meals in this house. W/ a 6qt slow cooker/crock pot it makes a filling meal for a 5 person family w/ plenty of leftovers.

Family size can of Cream of Mushroom soup and either a 15 oz or 32 oz container of beef broth depending if you like it really thick or a little thinner.

1 1/2 lbs of potatoes cut to about 3/4"-1" pieces.

1 1/2 lbs of carrots also cut to about 1" size pieces.

Not pictured: 1 cup of pearl onions w/ the tips cut and skinned. Alternately I also use diced green onions.

Spice it up. I like it w/ heavy pepper but also add Garlic, Salt, Onion Powder and Soy Sauce to taste.

Stir it together in crock pot at 325 for 3 hrs., stirring every 45 min or so.

One of the wonderful things about stew is that almost any quality meat can be used. I avoid the actual 'stew meat' at the store because it's more expensive and often fatty. Normally I use a 'yesterday's roast' special. This time I used leftovers from a pot roast earlier in the week.

Add 1 1/2 to 2 lbs cut in 3/4" pieces.

Not Pictured: Add 3/4 cup of barley

Stir in thoroughly.

W/ fresh beef turn temp. down to about 300 deg. and cook for another 3 hours, stirring about every 45 min. W/ the pre-cooked as above, wait an additional hour before adding to the vegetables. Serve and enjoy.

IGOLD 2012

Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day - IGOLD - 48 other states can't be wrong!

ISRA is proud to sponsor
Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day for 2012

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

IGOLD special guest:
Dr. Suzanna Hupp

Dr Hupp is a former Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives and a recognized public advocate for the Second Amendment and an individual’s right to carry a concealed weapon.

On Wednesday, October 16, 1991, Suzanna and her parents were having lunch at Luby’s Cafeteria in Killeen, when a man drove his truck into the restaurant and opened fire on the patrons. Suzanna instinctively reached into her purse for her handgun, but realized it was in her vehicle, as a new law was passed in Texas banning the carry of a concealed weapon. Suzanna escaped out of a broken window, but 23 unarmed others, including Suzanna’s mother and father, were killed at the hands of the gunman.

Inconvenient Facts

Dennis Henigan does it again. While dancing in the blood of dead children, he slips and falls on his face. Let's take a look at his claims:
Take the gun from Seung-Hui Cho and 32 Virginia Tech students would not have died almost five years ago. Nor would 15 more have been injured. Take the guns from Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris and 13 students and teachers would not have died at Columbine High School, nor would 21 others have been injured. Give these violent individuals baseball bats or knives instead of guns and everything changes. The problem is not just the people. The problem is also the guns.
Tens of millions of people own firearms every day w/o going on rampages. What the shooters have in common is not 'guns', it's diseased minds.

Cho purchased his firearms 'legally', passing multiple background checks and following all waiting periods. He managed to do this because he was never entered into the system as a prohibited person by the courts even after a hearing and a long history of violence and mental illness.

Klebold and Harris got their guns illegally through a straw purchaser (who was not convicted in exchange for congressional testimony) and a scumbag who knew they were underage.

The Chardon shooter had a long history of juvenile delinquency and stole his from a relative (who is being blamed because he didn't inventory his firearms every day).

Dennis seems to be going along the same line as the CSGV and NGVAC thinking that all firearm owners are just mass murderers in waiting.

No Shame

What do the Chardon school shooting and voting have in common? Absolutely nothing but that doesn't stop Josh Horwitz of the CSGV from using the tragedy to try and score points to push their political agenda.

This is how deranged these people are in order to try and ban guns. They will dance in the blood of murdered children and associate firearm rights advocates w/ mass murderers and assassins. Who knows what other steps they will resort to as their agenda keeps collapsing around them.

Only One is 'Remorseful'

A former Clarendon Hills police officer charged with stealing four guns collected during a turn-in program was sentenced to two years probation Friday after pleading guilty to felony official misconduct.
Probation? Now what do you think would have happened had you stolen four firearms?

Let's take a look at the firearms that were collected in the 'buyback' that he stole:

Ithaca M1911 A1 World War II U.S. Army .45-caliber
.22-caliber Short Butler derringer
Smith & Wesson .38-caliber Airlight Special
Mossberg 590 12-gauge shotgun;
Connecticut Valley Bobcat .50-caliber blackpowder

So he picked out the collector pieces, novelties and carry/defense guns for himself.

Don't you feel safer?

"There is no such thing as a “law abiding citizen”"

That is an official statement of the 'National Gun Victims Action Council' NGAC (why they don't call it NGVAC I don't know). They equate someone who speeds to a homicidal murderer because they believe a person who goes 60 in a 55 is just as likely to get a gun and go on a violent rampage, shooting as many innocent people as possible. You think I'm kidding?

"Anyone can lose control at any moment."
Think about the level of fear and clinical paranoia a person must have to believe that. To believe that we are all just another Cho, Lougner, Hasan, or Lane waiting to happen 'at any moment'. That they can't recognize the difference between a truly immoral/sociopathic action and an arbitrary bureaucratic prohibition. Then realize that this person believes they should set policy for you, determining what you should be 'allowed' to do w/ your rights, property and life. Also remember that the majority of the NGAC board are also affiliated w/ the Brady Campaign.

On another note, what kind of people is he around if he's "seen people jump out of a cars and come to blows over a parking spot, taxis cutting them off, violent arguments in movies about texting etc." on such a regular occurrence that it's the standard for his view of society?

Oh, Chicago. Right. The city w/ some of the strictest gun laws in the nation and 5x the murder rate of the rest of the state. Gun Control is a mental illness.
