Assuming all the details are accurate, good for the cop.

NEW YORK –  A rookie police officer shot and killed a 14-year-old boy on a street early Sunday after he refused to drop his gun and pointed it in the direction of officers, authorities said....Douse had been in trouble with the law before.

He was charged in May with attempted murder after a 15-year-old boy was shot in a Bronx neighborhood where Douse lived. That shooting took place two miles from where Douse was later shot to death.
Douse was also charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing in connection to the incident.

So this little turd was running around just asking to be offed by someone.  Now he's going to be listed as a 'child victim of gun violence' and his name remembered by the MAIG ghoul tour. 

Josh Horwitz Hates Logic

For years gun control advocates screamed "MORE GUNS = MORE CRIME!!!!".  When the truth comes out (again), so does the backpedaling:

“Guns sold incident to a background check are less likely to be involved in crimes than guns sold without a background check,” said Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. “So the real question — which I don’t think we really know — is what’s the level of gun sales without a background check?

Which still doesn't matter because crimes STILL dropped even if there were MORE sales w/o background checks. 

“In other words, if people who buy those guns and have a background check, and keep those guns and don’t sell them, then you would not expect that those guns would affect the crime rate,”

But they still want to ban the overwhelming majority of firearms in the US even those owned by those that have gone through all the requisite hoops. 

“It won’t reduce crime,” Horwitz said. “The point is that it decreases the lethality of crime.”

But for years they claimed it would reduce crime. Now that the facts don't support them, they move the goalpost w/ completely unsubstantiated emotional rhetoric.  Right out of the playbook.  The fact is, the facts have never supported them, they've just continued to lie.

Flash In The Pan Mob

When the best you can turn out for a 'flash mob' against 'gun violence' is less than 10 people in one of the gun control mecca's of the US , you really need to go home and rethink your life.



Not that I would expect much in the way of 'thought' from this particular group. Hold one of these 'mobs' in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago or one of the LA barrios instead of a nice safe tourist attraction, then we'll talk about how dedicated you are about stopping 'violence'. 

'Gang Violence', not 'Gun Violence'

Just a normal weekend in Chicago when some good boys just playing around found their daddy's legally purchased and licensed handgun which accidentally went off, hitting a little girl. 

Or not.

Laquan Waters, 18, Tyrese Pearson, 17, and Roosevelt Stevens, 15, have been charged with attempted murder in the shooting...

 two gunmen stepped out of an alley and opened fire about 4:55 p.m. Monday, according to family and police. Khalise was struck in the abdomen and a 31-year-old man was also hit.

Detectives were able to track down the suspects despite lack of cooperation from Khalise's family in identifying the shooters, an official said today.

While anti-gun fanatics dance in the rare instances of the top scenario, the reality is that children (real children, not the 18-24 yr old type) are more often victims of gang members and other criminals (4 just this month in Chicago alone) than by accidents or those w/ no prior criminal record. There will be no national outcry, marches, or speeches by Obama over them. 

We all know why.

Bad Self-Defense Advice From MAIG

Thought Biden's advice to shoot through doorways and into the air in populated neighborhoods was bad?  MAIG says you shouldn't shoot at all, even if a thug is attacking you w/ a deadly weapon:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: How do you talk to a guy with an axe handle?

MARK GLAZE: Well, you fight him. You run away. You deescalate the situation.

Yeah, that'll work. 

OK. So will Bloomie and Rhambo's armed security details follow the same advice if someone attacks one of 'hiz honners' w/ a club or knife?  I bet they'll shoot first and ask questions later. Only the privilidged class should be allowed to use/own firearms.

Misleading Headlines for Fun & Profit

Right out of the official anti-gun playbook comes this headline:

Teenager Russell Rios Shot And Killed for Shoplifting By Off-Duty Police Officer In Texas

and the first paragraph:

A teenager suspected of shoplifting at Walmart was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer in Conroe, Texas, today.

Now most people will stop reading shortly after this leading to the usual inflammatory beliefs against Texas, Walmart, guns, 'Stand Your Ground', etc.

 but farther down in the story comes the truth:

“Once in the woods, the suspect and the officer became engaged in a very intense struggle, and at one point the officer was being choked by the suspect … to the extent that he thought he was going to lose consciousness,” said Sgt. Dorcy Riddle.

So this poor child (19yr old man really) was allegedly getting the better of a cop in a fight and got shot.  Of course he was a 'good boy'.

Family members say Rios graduated high school two years ago, got a job and seemed happy with his life. He was set to attend Lone Star College this fall.

Which explains why he was shoplifting and running from the police.

Anti-Gun Activism for Dummies

It really is a book w/ a more PC name.

Emotional Rhetoric. Lies. Misdirection. More Emotional Rhetoric. Attack the NRA. Keep the pro-gun people on the defensive by throwing in 'terrorist', 'you hate police/children'....

These are the bought and paid for methods of anti-gun activists.  We've all heard them used.  Now we have the proof.

Youth Skeet Event, Loda IL, 8/4

Pheasants Forever’s Young Guns group out of Ford County IL, a group that Guns Save Life is proud to sponsor, is holding a Trap/Skeet shoot at Loda Sportsmens Club this Sunday from noon ’til 4:00pm.

And, as usual, most of the money is coming from Bloomberg and other left-wing philanthropists:

• Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo!, gave $250,000
• Sean Parker, social-media entrepreneur, gave $250,000
• Michael Bloomberg, mayor of New York, gave $250,000
• Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce.com, gave $500,000
• Mostyn Law Firm, which deals with hurricane victims, gave $250,000

 And take a look at their Schedule A, high hundreds and thousands of dollars.  A previous article claimed:

The average donation: $64.87.

If you look at the schedule, many of the donors gave multiple smaller amounts to pull the average down.  Makes it look much more 'grassroots' than a bunch of white-collars breaking out the trust funds, doesn't it?

Does MAIG Support Sexual Harassment?

Mayor Bob Filner has admitted he has a 'problem' harassing women.  Numerous reputable individuals have come forward stating that he's sexually harassed and abused them over the years in his offices to the point they've had to set up 'safe zones' while around him. 

Yet after all this, he's still a welcome member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG).

And this isn't a 'we haven't gotten around to it yet' situation... This is a multi-million dollar organization w/ countless employees (private and public) running it. So the only explanation is that they have no problems w/ the criminal actions of Filner as long as he supports their cause.

'Charlatan' Gun Group Lawyers Up, Goes 'POOF'

Another one of those 'NRA Alternatives' that tend to pop up around election times gets a spotlight shown on it.

The response? Lawyer up and threaten to sue.
