Bet He Wishes He Had An Individual Right To a Gun Now
Justice Breyer, one of the Anti-Gun Four who ruled against the individual right to keep and bear arms in both Heller and McDonald was robbed in his vacation home in the West Indies:
WASHINGTON – Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed last week by a machete-wielding intruder at his vacation home in the West Indies, a Supreme Court spokeswoman said Monday.
Careful what you wish for. I have great hopes that the remaining old coots on the left side of the bench will survive long enough to be replaced by a Republican president.
The crime occurred in Nevis, not the US. Even if Breyer had voted with the majority in Heller or McDonald it would be irrelevent to a crime committed in a foreign country.
I'm sure he went to there because of their "common sense" gun laws. Hmm...maybe he will become conservative by the old definition. A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy..
ReplyDeleteWould this be called Justice?
ReplyDeleteOh the irony! You can cut it with a MACHETE!
ReplyDeleteThat was almost my exact response to this news.

ReplyDeleteNow that's karma!

ReplyDeleteWhat Bob said - the West Indies aren't US territory.
ReplyDeleteBreyer could have been a rabid pro-2A bulldog his entire career and it wouldn't have changed a thing.
(I have no idea what St. Kitts And Nevis law is about foreign nationals being armed, but I doubt it's sympathetic, as they're a Commonwealth nation.)
