The Radicalization of Gun Control

As gun control groups have lost membership, money and influence, they have become more extreme and hostile in their messages. While this may work to rev up their hard-core base which is small to begin with, it tends to make your average person look at them as if they're nuts. Two prime examples of this are the VPC and CSGV. These went from being fairly influential to being a couple of die-hard fanatics sitting in their DC offices calling gun owners traitors and potential murderers. Protest Easy Guns has pretty much gone the same way (although Abby Spangler's always been a little 'off') and even the Brady Campaign spends more of their time talking about past glories, wishful thinking and attacking the NRA than they do on actual activism.

Now we're seeing MAIG start going down the same path. Former Chicago Mayor Daley, in his last few months in office, made numerous hostile statements about firearm ownership including threatening a reporter. Now NY Mayor Bloomberg, frustrated he hasn't been able to buy off Congress like he has the city council, seems to be heading in the same direction:
"Congress must believe that there is a constitutional amendment that says the right of terrorists to buy arms shall not be infringed."

Statements like that are fine w/ me. They show just how disconnected gun control is from reality and the mentality of those who endorse it, especially their leadership.
