Good Riddance..... But....

From the WSJ:
"The Justice Department is expected to oust the head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, according to people familiar with the matter, amid a troubled federal antitrafficking operation that has grown into the agency's biggest scandal in nearly two decades....
The shakeup shows the extent of the political damage caused by the gun-trafficking operation called Fast and Furious, which used tactics that allowed suspected smugglers to buy large numbers of firearms. "

I certainly like the idea of Melson getting pinkslipped (another one under the bus that makes "O" look bad) but then I worry about what the Lightbringer would replace him w/.

If Melson rolls and can prove Traver was onboard with the gunwalking, this could be very nice indeed.

Maybe they should just make the "acting director" slot a permanent part of the ATF TO and call it "Designated Scapegoat." Not that I'll shed a tear for him.

It'd be really fun to watch him roll over, but I'll bet he doesn't. There are worse things in washington than falling on your sword. No doubt Melson has been hearing a lot about them.

Ted Nugent for ATF!!!!!!!!!!!

How much fun would that be?

Either that, or scrap the whole thing...

I worry that they throw him under the bus and proclaim that it is all fixed perfectly; the typical scapegoat tactic, and then declare that MORE laws need to be added as the BC and VPC gang tweets about.

I think the investigation should only end when DOJ Holder is under arrest himself. That would be nice.

Hopefully, Holder will have the opportunity, for a number of years, to develop a taste for tortillas under the enforced hospitality of the Mexican government. Unfortunately, the deceased victims of the Gunwalker fiasco will never have the opportunity to taste anything ever again. Holder would be getting off lightly.

I'm wondering just how much of the blame Melson will be willing to take in order to shield higher-ups?

And how much pucker-factor is happening as the higher-ups worry about the same thing? Because if Melson decides to come clean about who & when...

If I were in his shoes (this is quite impossible since I do have integrity), I would vindictively bring down their whole house of cards.

Seriously, have we not witnessed this administration throwing anybody and everybody under the bus to stay afloat? Melson should have no loyalty to them.
