Here's what a recall will require: The proposal allowed voters to recall the governor and required that at least 20 state representatives and 10 state senators, equally balanced from each party in each chamber, sign a notice of intent to recall the governor before a petition can begin to be circulated. Then the petition has to have enough signatures to equal 15% of the number of votes cast in the last election for governor (about 550,000). Quinn is not likely to screw up as bad as Blago and piss off both sides of the aisle. I voted for this constitution change, as it was better than nothing. But not by much. I shoulda sent Brady more money....chiefjaybobnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8544914688307073747.post-22252369719403340382010-11-08T18:32:01.075-06:002010-11-08T18:32:01.075-06:00That statement is more evidence of how delusional ...That statement is more evidence of how delusional Quinn is.

His promise that the income tax increase will "probably" lead to local property tax abatement is another. I've lived in this state my entire life and have never seen any taxes reduced. The lottery was promoted years ago as being dedicated to funding education and that it would increase education funding. All that happened was that general revenue appropriations for education were reduced by the amount that the lottery brought in and were spent elsewhere.

It looks like time to try out the new recall amendment. Have it ready to file when he's sworn in for the new term.Hat Trickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08789313677285831256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8544914688307073747.post-35710246477900071982010-11-08T18:24:20.917-06:002010-11-08T18:24:20.917-06:00John Kass in the Chicago tribune has this little r...John Kass in the Chicago tribune has this little routine pretty well nailed down. Quinn get in; pushes through a 33% tax hike to cover the increasing corruption tax need. Come 2012, the voters will be pissed at him, and Lisa Madigan comes to save us all. Then Mike Madigan has his daughter in the governors mansion. We have only seen the tip of the hosing we are about to get. Madigan and Cullerton are the evil cabal in this state. Make no mistake. Madigan spent millions seeing to it that the Democrats that were in tight races won their seats. Not one of them would say that they would support anybody else in the role of Speaker. Read Kass' columns. He knows about the guys behind the guys.chiefjaybobnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8544914688307073747.post-65533376380575103012010-11-08T17:25:15.876-06:002010-11-08T17:25:15.876-06:00Most of the population doesn't bother register...Most of the population doesn't bother registering to vote or voting.
