Chicago Headline Season

So the weather's warming up and the sun is coming out.  Now this type of headline will be present in Chicago every Monday:

5 killed, 24 wounded in weekend gun violence across Chicago

To get a similar headline outside of Chicago, you would have to include the rest of the entire state of Illinois.

    Consider the FBI UCR reported 744 murder and nonnegligent manslaughter victims in all of Illinois in 2012, and Hey Jackass reported 514 of them occurred in Chicago. About 69% (514/744) of the murders in Illinois occur in Chicago and only 31% in the rest of IL.

    So wouldn't it take about two weekends for the rest of IL to kill as many people as the over achievers in Chicago do in one weekend?
