New York City Logic?

A grown adult cannot legally purchase a soft drink over 16 oz.

A minor can be given, without their parent's knowledge, a 'morning after pill'. A medication needing a prescription if under the age of 17.

How exactly does this make sense again?

    The same way that in San Francisco it is now illegal to smoke a cigarette on the sidewalk...unless the filling of that cigarette is an illegal drug! (At least federally, as Cali has gotten all crazy about what "diseases " can be "cured" by marijuana.)
