You can’t “smear” someone with the truth. Facts are facts.Wow. And this is a college professor. Apparently he's never read 1984. He only accepts 'GoodFacts'. 'Realfacts' aren't in his worldview.

I think he knows perfectly well what he is doing. He is nothing more than a paid shill, and will spread lies and misinformation because he is being paid to do so.

Actual factual statements can't be a smear; truth is a perfect defense against such an allegation.
The problem with his statement, then, would be that his "facts" aren't actually... facts.
