Quote of the Day: Naive Edition

You can’t “smear” someone with the truth. Facts are facts.

----Ken Q. , defending a bought and paid for 'media source'
Wow. And this is a college professor. Apparently he's never read 1984. He only accepts 'GoodFacts'. 'Realfacts' aren't in his worldview.

  1. How can a college professor not understand the difference between "their" and "there" (amidst other grammatical mistakes)?

  2. 20 year old data?

    Seriously?

The guy probably cruises around playing 8track tapes thinking he's cool.

  3. I think he knows perfectly well what he is doing. He is nothing more than a paid shill, and will spread lies and misinformation because he is being paid to do so.

  4. My snarky little comment is awaiting moderation: Political advocacy doesn’t deal in facts, it deals in faith. Media Matters is a faith-based operation.

  5. In context, he might well be a deceitful SOB.

In pure textual interpretation, however, he's right.

Actual factual statements can't be a smear; truth is a perfect defense against such an allegation.

The problem with his statement, then, would be that his "facts" aren't actually... facts.
